Renovation and complete design of a typical Mallorcan house situated on the Calvario mountain in Pollença has spectacular panoramic views of Pollença and the Puig de Maria Monastery.

The purpose of the integral reform was to introduce the necessary improvements to make it more comfortable and adapted to the current characteristics. A contemporary refuge with clean lines, whitewashed walls and sophisticated furniture. Its minimalist decoration oozes a chic Mallorcan style, while the old Mallorcan pieces allude to their ancient Spanish roots. The colourful works of modern art add a vibrant touch.

The most important change was made to the façade. As the typical houses of the island have few and small openings in the walls, generous glass doors were placed overlooking the garden, further reinforcing the feeling of luminosity and connecting the living area to the outside.

The dwelling is organised into two rectangular volumes of two storeys -both with a sloping single-slope roof- that are articulated by means of a central nucleus, also with two storeys and a flat roof, which houses the vertical connection staircase and the main entrance.

For the interior, a new layout was designed with a kitchen with floor-to-ceiling units on one of the fronts, leaving the other one free of tall furniture, open to the dining room and a large living room with access to the porch; in addition, the original coverings were replaced with Malloquian stone and the walls were painted white.

The five cosy rooms are distributed over the two floors and include a master suite, two doubles and another two double rooms. Each luxurious room is an oasis of calm, with large windows and captivating views of the city. The master bedroom, conceived as a suite, has direct access to a terrace located on the main façade. With large sliding windows, where the outside view is part of the exclusive charm of this space.

The landscaping project was also specially cared for, to make the most of the charming garden and highlighting the swimming pool that manages to integrate completely into the courtyard, enhancing the views that surround it.

The large terrace connects to the garden with flights of stairs and large flower boxes covered with masonry. These walls, together with the covering of the facades, give the building a sobriety and allow a perfect integration of the construction in the landscape.
